Casa Sombra

Casa Sombra began with a simple question: what does comfort look like when the sun is the dominant force? The answer was not to fight the light but to choreograph it. Deep overhangs, perforated screens, and a material palette drawn from the surrounding landscape create interiors that shift character throughout the day.

Design Principles

• -Embrace the sun rather than resist it
• -Let materials speak through texture
• -Design for the body, not just the eye
• -Every opening is a frame for landscape

Materials & Atmosphere

Rammed earth walls, perforated concrete screens, reclaimed timber, natural stone, hand-finished plaster.

Cool shadows, warm surfaces, the sound of breeze through screens, filtered afternoon light.

Casa Sombra reminded us that the best architecture does not announce itself. It settles in.
